About Me

Matthew Lister, Classical Guitarist Hello, my name is Matthew Lister and I’m a classical guitarist from New Hampshire with over a decade of experience arranging and performing music for weddings.

Through my experience as a wedding guitarist I have become very knowledgeable about wedding ceremony music and the types of songs that work best for the ceremony.

I have also arranged numerous songs, everything from love songs like “Storybook Love” and “Glasgow Love Theme” to classical music like Mozart and Bach.

I have even released an album of my own original guitar compositions and arrangements titled “The Suite Acoustic.”

I studied classical guitar under the guidance of Christopher Kane at the University of New Hampshire where I was a member of the UNH Classical Guitar Ensemble. I graduated summa cum laude from UNH in May of 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Performance.

Born in Pisa, Italy, I moved to New England when I was two. I began playing violin and guitar while still quite young, and gravitated towards classical guitar in my early teens. My early influences included steel string fingerstyle master John Renbourn, classical guitarist Alexander-Sergei Ramirez, and Spanish flamenco master Sabicas. I currently teach private guitar lessons in New Hampshire.

I am more than happy to share my wealth of knowledge and experience with wedding music through this website, which I co-write with my wife, Rebecca Brooks, a professional journalist and blogger.

Weddings are a beautiful, life-changing event and I’m thrilled to have assisted so many couples in finding just the right music for their magical moment. Now let me help you! Click here to get started on selecting the perfect music for your wedding.
